Kona, HI -
Part 3
I
told the girls they could pick what we did would be doing for the day. They choose bottle cap
crafting at the pool with Joy (we really love her).
We spent the morning at the middle pool.
We went to Kona for lunch and to run a few errands. We had shave ice on the way back to the condo.
For dinner, we had a sunset picnic/BBQ at the upper pool.

Saturday (Feb 16)
We went to Hapuna beach for some fun in the sun.
The girls went boogie boarding
and built a sand castle.
We had lunch at the beach.
On our way back to Kona we found a roadside truck selling malasadas. They were hot and fresh and pretty yummy.
Back at
the condo the girls collected their daily plumerias (the trees were right in
front of our lanai)
and after dinner we went to the pool…again.

Sunday (Feb 17).
Our
last day in Kona. The girls opted for the pool first thing in the morning so we
spent most of the morning playing in the upper pool.
We had lunch at the country club
then went into Kona for the hula show at the summer palace. It is such a beautiful setting and the weather was perfect.
After the show we walked around the street fair and had a shave ice.
Then on the way back to the condo we stopped at the little beach for our last sunset of the trip.
The girls and James went to the pool after dinner while I packed.

Monday (Feb 18)
We
went to the little beach right after breakfast to release our lei flowers into
the ocean (we cut the strings so they wouldn’t harm the turtles).
Then we headed to the airport for our afternoon flight back to SFO and SEA.

Hawaii is such a beautiful and magical place. Kona is our favorite…we keep coming back. We had a really nice trip with some busy parts and some relaxing parts but best of all some great memories with our Ohana. We will always come back to Kona. It feels like home.
So, as I say after every trip here, Mahalo Kona and Aloha until next time. Maija
