New Years - -St. George, UT & Las Vegas, NV - -December 30, 2022 to Jan 4, 2023

Because we stayed home for Christmas, we decided to travel for New Years Weekend. We went to St. George UT to see GG and Papa. We flew in and out of Las Vegas because it is a 2 hour drive from St. George and a direct flight in and out of Colorado Springs.

On New Years Eve, the kids (and James) went swimming and we found a Swig,  a must-have drink when we are in Utah.

then we had dinner

and a little New Years Eve Party

  Including horns and poppers.

As usual, we welcomed in the New Year east coast time which means we were all in bed before the clock actually struck twelve.

New Years Day we went to church and relaxed.

On January 3rd we drove back to Las Vegas to spend the night. Elin had a special donut shop she wanted to try so we stopped there first

Then we went straight to the Aria for late lunch at our favorite restaurant, Din Thai Fung. This was our go-to in Washington for special occasions and we haven’t been there since we left since there are only 7 in the US (all on the west coast).

Yes, it was as amazingly delicious as we remembered.

We checked into our room at the Venetian.

And went out on the strip for a walk to the Bellagio fountain.

On our way back we had a slice of pizza and rainbow cake.

The pizza was good (NY style) the cake ..... eh. Wed Jan 4 we had an early afternoon flight home so we walked to the Mirage across the street then stopped by Lola’s for a treat before the airport.

Even the dolls had a seat on our return flight

We had a nice relaxing visit in St. George.  Las Vegas....not my favorite place but I wanted to show the girls what it was like. They thought it was interesting but SO. MUCH. WALKING.

Thanksgiving 2022 - Ignacio CO - November 23-26, 2022

For Thanksgiving this past year we drove to Ignacio to spend the weekend with my parents and my brother Oscar.  While the adults worked on dinner, the girls made videos and had hot cocoa bombs...

and helped rake and bag leaves for Mummu.

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Oscar's house.

Turkey place cards made my Elin, Anikka and Mia

It was a perfect holiday--family, food and fun---and we got to relax a little too.

On Friday the girls decided they liked working so much they decided to do the front of the house.

They ended up collecting 33 bags of leaves.

They gave Lincoln a hair makeover....

and had a playdoh restaurant.

Friday evening we went into Durango for pizza and the Christmas tree lighting.

Saturday morning we had a little time for the girls to play (they made more videos)...

before we drove home to Colorado Springs.  It was a great way to spend the holiday. I realize now as I'm typing up my blog that, regretfully,  I didn't take any pictures of the whole family together on Thanksgiving.  I'll make sure to do better next time .
