Two Cowgirls, Snowflake, and a stop at the lake house - MT & ID - August 11-19, 2018

For our last summer trip, we drove to Montana to visit GG and Papa on the farm.  We spent a long first day in the car and made the whole trip in 13.5 hours from Kirkland to Townsend.

On our first day on the farm went to church with GG and Papa and in the afternoon the girls wanted to wear their pink cowgirl gear and ride Snowlake.  Elin was a little apprehensive at first but got used to Snowflake quickly. Anikka jumped right on and giggled the whole time...which is about how they each handle most things in life.

The smoke was really bad from forest fires but it make the sun very pretty

The next day we mostly played outside.  The girls got Snowflake out and led him around.

Then it got hot, so they got wet in the irrigation sprinkler.  Yes, in their clothes (with Mom's approval).

They changed into swimsuits to have popsicles

then Daddy and Papa opened up the irrigation pipe for them to play in. They called it their "chocolate river".

For dinner and FHE we met the Christensen's at the river to roast hot dogs and have smores.

We even found a baby turtle.

Our 3rd day we spent some time hanging out with Snowflake and relaxing.

Papa taught them to drive the four wheeler.

Then we headed into Helena to ride the carousel and have pizza at MacKenzie River.

The next day we spent the morning hanging out on the farm and riding Snowflake and the four wheeler.

After lunch we took a day trip to West Yellowstone to see a play at the PlayMill Theatre.  When we got to West Yellowstone we did a little souvenir shopping (for t shirts and stuffies) and had dinner at a fun place where the tables look like covered wagons.

Then headed across the street to the PlayMill to see The Little Mermaid.  It was a really fun play and the girls loved it.

We did a quick old fashioned photo before headed back to Townsend (a 2.5 hour drive).  It was a long but fun day.

On our last day at the farm we played outside, picked raspberries, rode the 4 wheeler and Snowflake.

lunch on the porch

On Friday we headed West to Hayden Lake, ID to spend a few days with Russ and Lisa at their lake house.  The girls were so excited to swim and swim and swim.  And thats exactly what they did.

Saturday....lake time.....

Lunch on the deck

and more lake time with intermittent hot tub time when they were cold.  Tristan took them out on the jet ski and let them drive.   Tristan says that Anikka goes full throttle at all times....yes, we know...

On the SUP with Trevor

The next day (Sunday) we headed home to Kirkland.    We had a great week with family and the girls learned to do a lot of fun new adventurous things.
