2014 Summer Travels - Part 1 - Colorado

As I sign into blogger today the first thing I realized is that my last post was last summer.  Yikes! That means we haven't traveled much in the last year.  We did do a couple of small weekend trips to Vancouver BC and Hayden Idaho in the past year but our time this past year has mostly been consumed by this....

We built a new house in Kirkland WA and moved in in January.  Between getting our townhouse on the market and sold and moving into the new house, we didn't have much time for travel.

We are back on the road again and in late July I traveled (alone) with my girls to Cod-o-rado (as Anikka calls it)  to spend a week helping my Dad while my Mom finished up a 3 weeks trip home to Finland.  Luckily, my girls are great travelers and we had no issues.

My brother (Oscar) and his family live very close to my parents and my girls spent every moment they could with their cousins Deekon (age 9.5) and Lincoln (age 7)  or their "brothers" as Anikka called them.  These 4 musketeers had a great time playing and playing and playing.  My girls barely came in the house except to eat.  Anikka always wanted to hold Deekon's hand wherever they went

and she loved to hug Pappy multiple times a day (much to his delight).

The kids loved to sit in the swing and eat popsicles after lunch,

dig for worms,

pick strawberries,

make monsters with play-doh,

play in the mud,

 and jump on the trampoline.

We had a great time meeting my newest niece Amelia who was almost 4 months old.

We went swimming at the rec center...

and celebrated Elin's 4th Birthday and Anikka's 2nd birthday.

Phew! Makes me tired just looking at the pictures....and that was only week one, we still had another one to go.

.....to be continued.....

  1. So fun! I'm sorry that your traveling has slowed down but it looks like you have a good excuse. The house looks beautiful. In terms of traveling, it seems like the girls had an absolute blast. I love the mud pictures and the birthday cakes.
